PhD position in molecular biology/biophysics

The Department of Molecular Biology http://www.uib.no/en/mbi has a vacancy for up to two research fellow(s) in biophysics/molecular biology in the group of Øyvind Halskau. The positions are for a fixed-term period of 3 years and are affiliated with the project, “The membrane as a catalyst of damaging protein misfolding events” funded by the Research Council of Norway’s FRIMEDBIO programme. The project aims to investigate links between the lipid composition and physical state of the artificial and cellular membranes on one hand, and protein misfolding events on the other.

 

The project will take place in the NUCREG program research environment, which consists of Aurélia E Lewis, Øyvind Halskau, Rune Male, Hee-Chan Seo and Rein Aasland and their staff and students (http://www.uib.no/en/rg/nucreg).
